Bajaj Auto Rolls Out WEGO Electric Three-Wheeler Range, Claims Up to 296 Km Range
Bajaj Auto has added to its EV line-up with the launch of its new WEGO electric three-wheeler series in India. The new range continues Bajaj Auto’s mission to offer a variety of quality electric-powered mobility solutions, as it already has one of the largest electric three-wheeler offerings in the country, including both passenger transport and cargo transportation options. The new three-wheeler products, consisting of five different models broken down into seven total variants, are intended for numerous types of transportation/use cases.
Powertrain Setup, Battery Options and Ride Capability
The WEGO family of electric vehicles offers three battery pack sizes: a 9.2kWh battery, a 12.1kWh battery, and a 17.7kWh battery. These vehicles also utilize regenerative braking technology to recapture energy from the vehicle during its deceleration process and help maintain better overall energy usage. In addition, a new battery management system has been developed to improve vehicle performance and efficiency.
These electric vehicles have a gradibility of between 33% and 36%. In addition to this, a specific climbing mode has been built-in for use when driving on steep inclines. Hill hold assist systems are designed into these vehicles to prevent rollbacks while on a slope. A two-speed transmission system assists with torque distribution in heavy load conditions.
The platform for both the passenger and cargo vehicle versions have been modified to create larger overall dimensions but, therefore, provide more interior room while providing better exterior proportions. In addition, the passenger vehicles have an increased number of seats available for use and the capacity of the cargo versions has been increased only for transporting heavier loads.
Model Categories and Driving Range Breakdown
The different segments of the WEGO product line include the P50, P70, P90 and C90 for various purposes using a specific number of features
