Electric 3-Wheeler Sales Surge to Record High in November, Topping 700,000 Units in 11 Months
India’s electric three-wheeler industry achieved record retail sales in November 2025, selling 83,682 units. This number is up 32% YoY from 63,400 units sold in November 2024. Sales were up 18.52% MoM against the 70,604 units sold in October.
Cumulative January-November sales reached 709,506 units, surpassing 700,000 for the first time and putting the industry on track to achieve a CY2025 total of 750,000–760,000 units. Daily sales in November averaged 2,784 units. Analysts had projected the 700,000-unit milestone would be crossed in November, confirming the segment’s resilience compared to electric two-wheelers (e-2Ws) and electric passenger vehicles (e-PVs), which fell MoM.
Legacy OEMs are still the largest contributors to growth. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor Co, and Piaggio Vehicles collectively capture a significant market share. Mahindra sold 10,786 units in November, down 9% MoM but up 51% YoY, managing a 13% monthly market share. MLMM’s e-3Ws comprising Treo, Treo Plus, Treo Zor, Treo Yaari, Zor Grand, e-Alfa Plus, and e-Alfa Cargo cumulatively sold 87,806 units in January–November, rising 40% YoY.
Bajaj Auto recorded a 9% MoM increase, with best-ever monthly retails of 8,765 units. Yearly cumulative sales up to January–November 2025 stood at 71,025 units, up by 88% YoY. TVS Motor Co sold 2,871 units in November, its highest ever monthly figure since the company’s entry into the e-3W market; 18,116 cumulative units were sold over 11 months.
The top 10 OEMs together sold 36,036 units in November, accounting for 43% of the total. M&M, Bajaj and TVS collectively contributed 22,422 units, 27% of the month’s total. Other contributors included the following: Saera Electric Auto with 2,274 units; Dilli Electric Auto with 2,056 units; and Piaggio Vehicles with 1,314 units. Companies in rankings 7–10—Zeniak Innovation India, JS Auto, Mini Metro Electric Vehicles, and Terra Motors India—added a combined 5,829 units.
The e-3W segment retains its position as India’s biggest EV three-wheeled market for the third consecutive year, beating China. Its growth reflects strong consumer adoption and provides evidence that investments by legacy OEMs in zero-emission vehicles pay off with an ever-increasing market share.
